Reporting to the Chief Information Officer , the IT Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of a variety of complex IT projects and programs with cross‑functional operational impact to our Long‑Term Care, Home Care, and corporate operating divisions. The Project Director will be a hands‑on leader, responsible for leading the full project lifecycle management and managing project delivery teams.

This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• The Project Director will be responsible for leading multiple simultaneous projects and will require a high degree of skill in prioritization and problem‑solving.
• Manage overall IT Capital Project budget across the business.
• Lead IT project delivery team including mentoring and coaching of direct reports.
• Accountable for all project objectives which may include vendor contracting and management, solution design and implementation, communication and change management planning.
• The Project Director will be required to lead the stakeholder engagement activities and lead cross‑functional meetings, obtaining buy‑in from all key stakeholders.
• Responsible for identifying all project risks and working collaboratively with internal and external vendor teams in developing and implementing risk management plans.
• Communicate key project milestones, timelines, and updates to all key stakeholders across the organization from operations to senior leadership.
• Build and maintain professional partnerships with internal business partners and support teams, that are characterized by shared responsibility and success, open communication, and transparency.
