Who we need

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, we are hiring a Human Resources Generalist to join our team for a 12-month contract. You will be responsible for providing HR support and services to managers and employees within the organization. As a key point of contact for employee relations, you will support annual HR processes, coaching, and training.

How you will make an impact :

  • Employee relations. You will be a trusted advisor, providing compensation, equity, workforce planning, and transparency guidance. You will help managers navigate employee concerns, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Talent management and development. You will assess team potential, provide feedback on leadership and change management, and support career growth. You will engage top performers in meaningful career discussions and guide succession planning. You will drive key HR processes, including performance reviews and calibrations, ensuring they are impactful and effective.
  • Employee well-being. You will champion initiatives that enhance social and psychological well-being, proactively identifying opportunities to support employees and build a healthy workplace culture.
  • Training and coaching : You will deliver targeted management and employee training, coach managers on conflict resolution and employee development, and ensure they have the tools to lead effectively. You will investigate employee concerns with care and professionalism and develop resolution strategies. You will educate and guide managers on performance management and disciplinary procedures.
  • Policy and procedures. You will ensure that HR policies and procedures align with business needs, providing clear guidance and execution with a standardized, centralized approach. You will bridge the gap between policy and practice, making HR accessible and actionable.

What you bring :

  • The experience. You have a strong background as an HR Generalist, with hands-on experience managing employee relations and advising leadership in a unionized environment. You have worked closely with teams to align organizational, team, and individual goals. You bring strong business and HR acumen, including problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. You can identify challenges, implement solutions, and drive adoption with engagement. You have a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics.
  • The HR knowledge. You have a deep understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. You can quickly adapt to our specific needs, translating policies into actionable strategies. You play a key role in executing annual HR processes, such as performance reviews and calibrations, ensuring they drive meaningful outcomes.
  • The initiative. You excel at managing multiple projects, balancing long-term strategies with immediate priorities. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, staying organized and focused while navigating complexity.
  • The employee relations expertise. You have a proven track record in investigating employee concerns, developing resolution plans, and fostering a fair, supportive workplace. You understand employment laws and best practices and bring strong conflict-resolution skills to navigate sensitive situations confidently.
  • The talent management and development skills. You are well-versed in talent management processes, including performance management, career development, and succession planning. You can assess employee potential, support team growth, and provide guidance on compensation, equity, and benefits planning.
  • The coaching skills. You are an experienced trainer and coach, helping managers build leadership skills and navigate change. You give constructive feedback, provide day-to-day coaching, and empower managers to bring out the best in their teams.
  • The communication skills. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You handle conflict with composure, mediate challenging situations, and facilitate productive discussions across all levels. You build relationships, promote diverse perspectives, and influence stakeholders to drive change. You listen actively, seek to understand others, and create solutions that balance business and employee needs.
