Job Description
Area Revenue Manager, Fairmont Pacific Northwest Hotels
Supporting Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Empress and Fairmont Vancouver Airport, the Area Revenue Manager is responsible for maximizing revenue and profitability.
What you will be doing :
Reporting to the Senior Director, Revenue Management, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
Working within the revenue management team to align strategies of 5 hotels in order to win the business for the brand.
Combined hotels have over 2200 guest rooms.
- Support and develop long term plans with DOSM and RM team, including selling strategies and rate parameters.
- Chair property weekly RevMax and group meetings to help maximize profitability decisions and manage wash
- Play an active role in the Strategic Planning, Marketing Plan and Budgeting process
- Assist in the mentorship and training of revenue management analyst
- Optimize hotel and corporate pricing strategies through management of pricing levels, stay restrictions and other tactics.
These should be congruent with demand factors and are managed through all distribution channels.
- Provide direction and support for leisure and business travel sales managers, to determine effective and engaging rate offers (packages) which are then offered to the right customer, in the right channel.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure the best exposure for variety of offers.
- Ensure the combined inventory / pricing strategies are rational amongst the cluster properties, and in relation to the competition.
- Work with the Pacific Northwest Revenue management team to define optimal mix of business dependent on demand patterns
- Tracking and analysis of competitive set pricing and yield strategies, gaining the ability to predict the comp set reaction to changes in the marketplace.
- Continuous analysis of changing channel distribution models and the impact on consumer booking trends
- Coordinate with brand Distribution team to ensure efficient delivery of reservations to CRS.
- Complete special projects to creatively find new ways to generate revenues, including restaurant revenue management and spa revenue management.
- Liaise with Reservations, Front Office, Events and Sales teams to ensure the highest level of guest service is maintained, while maximizing profit
- Ensures accurate and timely preparation of analytical reports
- Stay current with industry changes and how it may impact demand, including our customer industries
- Participate in departmental / self-guided training and development
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include :
- Strategic thinking, combined with the proven ability to move strategy into action are foremost attributes.
- Comfortable in discussion forums; able to present ideas succinctly and convincingly.
- Proven experience in analysis and problem solving required.
- Team building skills and proven track record is essential.
- Self-study and independent work ethics are required.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints is key to the success of this individual
- Strong experience, or adaptable training, in the use of automated systems, PCs and office products, e.g. : Excel, Word
- Knowledge of Fairmont Sales & Property Management automation, including Property Manager, CRS, OXI Interfaces, Passkey, Opera products, and IDeaS revenue management system.
- Previous Experience in Revenue Management is an asset. Minimum of 2 year’s experience as Sales Manager, Front Office Manager, or Reservations Manager;
or 2 year’s experience in a related area.
University / College degree in a related discipline preferred
