Health Care Payment Officer – Temporary (18 months)
Two temporary Health Care Payment Officers are needed in the Payment Services and Worker Travel teams within the Health Care Operations department of WorkSafeBC.

WorkSafeBC offers a hybrid work model that combines working remotely and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.
Responsibilities
- Entitle and process health care benefits and travel arrangements for injured workers.
- Process invoices and answer inquiries from health care providers, vendors, and workers.
- Communicate with claimants, internal staff, physicians, hospitals, etc., to obtain or clarify payment information.
- Authorize and process health care expenditures on a variety of payment systems.
- Consistently model the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees : responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward‑thinking.
Qualifications
Minimum of grade 12 education.Experience with Excel.Your background and experience
Communicate in a persuasive, empathetic, respectful manner by listening and questioning for pertinent information.Gather and analyze information, determine relevant facts, and apply established policy to make timely decisions.Organize, prioritize, and multi‑task in an environment that includes interruptions and changing priorities.Clearly, concisely, and accurately explain complex information both verbally and in writing.Important to know
Successfully meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and / or vulnerable adults.Confirm you are legally entitled to work in Canada.Benefits
Competitive salary plus a total compensation package that includes an extra 4% of your salary in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation from the day you start.After 1,820 hours (approximately 12 months) :3 weeks of vacation with regular increases based on years of service.Extensive health care and dental benefits.Sick leave and long‑term disability coverage.Salary
$31.03 – $38.48 per hour.
