Geohazard Specialist

Role Summary

We are seeking a Geohazard Specialist (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) to join our growing team. This role focuses on the assessment, analysis, and mitigation of natural hazards in British Columbia’s complex terrain. You will work within a multi-disciplinary environment—collaborating with our civil, geotechnical, hydrotechnical and forestry teams—to deliver practical solutions for infrastructure, resource development, and land-use planning projects.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Execution (Billable)

• Conduct Geohazard Assessments and Terrain Stability Assessments (TSA) for landslides, debris flows, rockfalls, and avalanches in accordance with EGBC guidelines.
• Perform terrain stability mapping and natural hazard risk analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
• Design conceptual and detailed mitigation strategies (e.g., rockfall barriers, debris flow deflection berms, slope stabilization).
• Lead field investigations in rugged and remote terrain across BC; this may include aerial reconnaissance (helicopter / drone).
• Coordinate with the hydrotechnical team on flood hazard assessments and riverbank stability.
