Gravel Truck Driver

We are searching for an

• experienced Hydrovac Operator that can also operate Gravel trucks and lowbeds
• to join our hardworking crew here in the Okanagan.

The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience with hauling lowbed trailers, operating hydrovac and gravel trucks, as well as

• Experience driving in and around work sites
• Eye for detail
• Good communication skills
• Great work ethic and attitude

Attentive to safety standards

Wage will be based upon experience.

• Responsibilities :
• Must be able to maintain a daily electronic and written log
• Must be able to pull permits
• Must be able to hook, unhook, and load lowbed trailers
• Must be able to securely tie down a load as per regulations
• Must be able to plan routes
• Must understand and adhere to MOT guidelines
• Must be aware of vehicle height and overhead structures and utilities
• Must be able to comfortably operate various equipment and load / unload onto lowbed trailers
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others
• Must complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailers
• Must be able to perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work well with a team
• Must be organized
• Must be patient
• Must maintain a clean and organized vehicle
• Education & Experience :
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience driving gravel trucks and lowbed trailers, and operating hydrovac trucks
• Must have a valid Class 1 Driver's Licence with Air Brakes Endorsement
• Must have experience swamping, trenching, etc and working with underground utilities
• Must have computer skills
• Must have a good understanding of hydrovac mechanics
• Mechanical skills is an asset
• Ground Disturbance Certification is an asset
• Physical Demands :
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Climbing in and out of truck
• Standing, Walking, Bending, Squatting, Climbing
• Lifting objects up to 50 lbs
• Working in varying temperatures and weather conditions
