Heavy Duty Automotive Mechanic

Position Summary

• The Auto Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance, and diagnostic tests of the UPS vehicle fleet.
• Job Type: Full‑Time – Permanent
• Workdays: Monday to Friday
• Shift duration: 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM

Responsibilities and Duties

• Repair, inspect, and maintain UPS diesel, propane, CNG and gasoline vehicles in a regular and timely manner.
• Operate and test company vehicles within the UPS facilities and on public roads.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able and willing to work evening and/or night shifts.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced work environment.
• Valid PEP card heavy duty or light duty mechanic license.
• Essential trade tools and equipment.
• Clean driver’s abstract/record with no violations for the current year, no more than 2 violations in the last 3 years, and no accidents.
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
• Pass a pre‑employment road test.

Compensation And Benefits

• $36.00 per hour, with potential increase to $42.29 after 12 months of service.
• Weekly pay every Friday.
• Automatic pay progression per union Collective Agreement.

Working Conditions

• Mainly indoors (warehouse or shop); occasionally outdoors.
• Exposed to hot or cold temperatures when working outdoors.
