Security, Summer Student role at Trans Mountain
Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. With more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state, we deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day. The company also operates the state‑of‑the‑art Westridge Marine Terminal, providing tidewater access to global markets. Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system while maintaining high safety, integrity, respect and excellence values.
Duration : May 4, 2026 – August 21, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Security department training and exercise program by coordinating logistics and providing onsite representation during exercise events.
- Assist with field Security Inspections to ensure conformance with TM’s Corporate Security Standard and recommend improvements.
- Assist with statistical reporting to support security risk assessments and asset deployment.
- Update security field inspections and ensure site conformance with TM Corporate Security Standards and regulations.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Collect and organize security‑related data. Responsible for report writing and data entry.
- Provide administrative assistance including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and tracking action items.
Qualifications And Professional Experience
Enrolled in criminology, security management, business studies or a closely related program with at least one year of study completed.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications : Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.Team player with a positive attitude.Self‑motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines.Strong organizational skills and problem‑solving ability.Other Requirements And Information
Must be enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary institution and return to full‑time studies in the fall.This role is full time in‑office and requires on‑site attendance for the duration of the summer term.Pay range : $24.61 – $33.48 CAD.
