Location : Edmonton,AB

Duration : 6-month Contract

Work Type : Remote (onsite meetings when required)

Project Name : JIMS 3.0 (Justice Information Management System)

About the Role :

We're seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our team and contribute to the JIMS 3.0 (Justice Information Management System) project. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing data solutions to support critical justice data analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Data Architecture Design : Develop and implement robust data architectures, including EDW structures, data marts, and conformed dimensions.
  • Data Modeling : Create logical and physical data models optimized for performance and aligned with business processes.
  • Data Integration : Oversee data integration from various sources into the EDW, designing efficient ETL processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Data Governance : Establish and enforce data governance policies and practices to manage data access, quality, and security.
  • Best Practice Promotion : Champion data management best practices, including data architecture, data sharing, data integration, and data quality.
  • Technical Leadership : Lead or assist in technical discussions and architectural reviews, ensuring correct interpretation of the data architecture.
  • Documentation : Document data architecture, models, and processes, facilitating knowledge transfer to IT and business teams.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals and business requirements.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Proven experience in data warehouse design principles, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, including star schemas and snowflake schemas.
  • Proficiency in data integration tools and techniques.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Nice to Have :

  • Experience with cloud computing or big data platforms.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
