We are seeking a Paralegal to join LendCare. In this role, you will oversee the Small Claims Court process and manage legal collections, ensuring compliance and efficiency throughout.

Day in the life of a Paralegal:

• Draft and prepare pleadings along with a variety of legal documents with precision.
• Proactively plan and prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines and maintain workflow.
• Liaise with other members of the legal department.
• Manage and maintain a high volume of legal files, ensuring organization and accessibility.
• Actively prepare for and attend court appearances, providing solid support to our legal team.
• Oversee and coordinate legal settlements and collections processes.
• Efficiently locate individuals and assets using Skip Tracing techniques.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation.

What we are looking for:

• Paralegal Diploma or Certificate.
• Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario and must be in good standing.
• Knowledge of the Rules of the Small Claims Court and experience with Small Claims Debt Collections is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software such as Clio or similar platforms.
• Comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to consistently meet or exceed monthly targets.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for court appearances (mileage reimbursed).
• Ability to work full-time in our head office in Pickering, ON.

We are offering $46,000.00 - $52,250.00/year CAD for this role, plus the opportunity to earn lucrative monthly performance bonuses.
