MECHANIC FOR WOOD WORKING MACHINERY

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Experienced Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment which works in the wood working industries, ex. mdf, particle boards, laminates and wood veneers, to ensure optimal operational performance. Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs promptly to minimize downtime
• Replace worn or defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
• Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
• Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical problems and recommend improvements
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills for effectively reporting issues and solutions
• Relevant certifications or licenses (such as ASE certification) are a plus
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely
