Position Title : Risk Rating Specialist (Bilingual in French / English)
Location : Downtown, Toronto
Pay Rate : $28 / hour
Duration of contract : 6 months
Working hours : Monday-Friday 9 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. or 11 : 00 a.m. to 7 : 00 p.m. Rotate - need to be flex for both shifts
Job Description :
- Use combination of GAAP, notes to financial statements, and overarching guidelines to correctly identify and input values from financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow) of privately held companies into the Risk Rating model.
- Generate a BRR (Borrower Risk Rating) calculation for each request based on inputs done using financial statements from variety of businesses
- Apply requested adjustments to financial statements and create a revised set of financial statements and BRR rating
- Understand intercompany transactions and apply the elimination of same to combine financial statements from multiple companies
- Support Manager, Risk Rating in other duties as assigned

Department Overview :
The BRR Input Team provides Borrower Risk Rating input support for Commercial Banking Centers, Mid-Market Agriculture units, Equipment Finance, Automotive Banking Centers, Financial Restructuring Group, and Franchise Banking.
BRRIT is responsible for generating model implied BRRs for existing and new borrowers by completing all Moodys CreditLens inputs, including financial statement input and the input of qualitative assessment.
Job Requirements :
- Read and understand financial statements (company prepared, notice to reader, review engagement, and audited).
- Keen attention to detail
- Working knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop software, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while ensuring work is of high quality
- Problem solving ability
- Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and inter-personal skills
- Work experience in accounting or finance
- Bilingual in French (reading and understanding - intermediate to advanced, writing - novice to intermediate, speaking - novice to intermediate)
Education :
Minimum post-secondary education, Commerce or Business Administration degree is a requirement, specialization in accounting or finance is preferred
Must haves :
- Read and understand financial statements
- GAAP knowledge
- Some experience working in accounting or finance related role
- MS office
- Bilingual (French and English).
