What Is The Opportunity?
The Estimating Coordinator will report directly to an Estimating Manager (or the Director of Proposals & Estimating) and will be responsible for the overall organization of estimating processes and coordination of day‑to‑day activities for the entire group. This position will work closely with the Estimating Managers and Estimators and will be responsible for ensuring estimating deliverables and produced to meet the required timelines. This position will also be responsible for managing customer information, estimate status tracking and benchmarking, assigning work, correspondence (both internal and external) and procedure adherence. The role will also support data input into estimating software.
What You’ll Do Here
Receipt and download of customer RFPs, documents, information and subsequent distribution of this data the required estimating and proposal management team membersRegistration of new estimatesAssist with work assignments for estimating team resourcesCoordination with the Proposal Manager / CoordinatorSupport Estimating Managers and Estimators by obtaining / locating required inputs or informationAssist the Estimating Managers with various estimating activities, as requiredSetting up and maintaining estimating files and documentation in accordance with project filing requirements (i.e. TEAMS, Sharepoint or Network drives)Review RFPs and develop a detailed understanding of the client’s bid requirementsDevelop estimate schedules, responsibility matrices and track estimating deliverables, actions, milestones and due datesOrganize and attend estimate Kick-off and Review meetingsEnsure adherence to company’s quality procedures that govern the estimating processUpdating estimating activity dashboards and status tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Coordinate with and provide information to the Estimating AdministratorInterfacing with other internal stakeholders (eg. Finance, Engineering, Legal, etc.) and various Project Team members to facilitate estimate developmentAct as a back‑up to the department administrator.Upon an award of a project, assist with compiling turnover information to the Project TeamPrepare reports and presentations to Sr. ManagementPrepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutesPrepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to the client on behalf of the Estimating ManagerSome travel may be required (within Ontario)What You Bring To The Team
Previous experience within an Estimating role, Construction Management and / or Engineering TechnologyPrevious experience in Operations ManagementStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to understand technical concepts and construction scopes in the nuclear construction and engineering industryProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, optimizing workflow efficiency and ensuring timely delivery of resultsUnderstanding of business intelligent platforms and supporting platforms (preferably with Microsoft product knowledge) i.e. Sharepoint, Power BI, Word, Excel, Visio, MS ProjectStrong attention to detail and organization skillsHighly collaborative, with the ability and willingness to establish strong working relationships with team membersAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
