We are looking for a senior-level internal audit expert who loves producing high quality work in financial audits and operational audits for a complex multi-national organization. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a steady long-term career path within a large, reputable, and well-established public company. Working closely with a stable and well-tenured team, with great accounting & finance leaders to learn from. Very good work-life balance relative to other Internal Audit Manager roles. Fluency in both English and French is required. Hybrid schedule. Based in Montreal. Robust base salary and total compensation.
Our client is a high-profile global company with operations in several countries and over 5,000 employees. They have a reputation for hiring top talent and for providing their employees with interesting and challenging work in a professional environment. Swim Recruiting has been engaged to aid with this important search.
On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a new Manager, Internal Audit. The Mgr will work on a tightknit global finance team and will report directly into the Head of Internal Audit. Given the very high retention and long tenures on this team, it’s rare for a role to open up at Manager level on this team.
The new Manager will have a senior and highly valued role that is still hands-on. The person in this job will be directly involved in leading financial audits, operational audits, and IT audits (with support on the latter from an IT Audit Specialist) across Canada and the US.
The Manager will review and improve internal controls (including COSO framework), enhance risk management, oversee governance processes, and ensure overall corporate compliance with both internal and external policies (including SOX compliance). This internal audit manager will be a go-to contact across the organization, supporting the CFO as well as non-finance leaders.
The Manager will use various tools and technologies, such as MS Office, a sophisticated ERP, and an audit software. There is good opportunity for steady long-term career growth with this large company over the years! SWIM will provide qualified and interested candidates with a full job description.
Greater Montreal Area.
HYBRID. Full-time in-office during the first weeks of training and onboarding. After that, the Manager can choose to work from their home office 1-2 days a week- please discuss with SWIM.
Work Travel- there will be occasional business travel in this role, to visit office and project sites during audits. Business trips will likely be only once a quarter, and no more than twice a quarter, and overall business travel will take place less than 8% of the year. Please discuss with Swim Recruiting what level of business travel you are able and comfortable doing!
This company has a very stable and well-managed accounting & finance function with long-tenured employees. Due to this, the work/life balance is better than the average at Big 4 firms or other global public companies. There is of course some overtime here & there, particularly during year-end, but it’s a relatively reasonable amount. For a good chunk of the year the new Manager can expect to work a steady work week of under 45 hours, assuming they are highly detailed, deadline-oriented, productive, efficient, and organized.
Robust total compensation package- base salary commensurate with audit and accounting skills, work experience level, and when CPA was achieved, in the range of $95,000 to $130,000. The Manager will be eligible for a performance-based bonus, relevant professional development support, an RRSP match, strong health benefits, and other employee perks. Please also keep in mind the competitive work/life balance compared to many other corporate accounting teams. Please discuss your total compensation expectations in detail with SWIM.
If you are qualified for, and interested in, this senior internal audit opportunity with a high-profile corporation, please do not delay in applying as this search is moving very quickly! If you already have a Recruiter at SWIM, please reach out to that consultant directly. If you do not yet have a contact at Swim Recruiting, please hit ‘APPLY' to send us your resume. Thank you!
