DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Under the direction of the Skating Head Coach, provide instruction of the weekly skating program following the premade lesson plans.
• Responsible for greeting participants, leading activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.
• To evaluate participants using a standardized assessment tool.
• To maintain excellent customer service communication with instructors, parents and participants.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Security Clearance Requirements : Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.

Please note  – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Candidates, who are selected for testing, may be tested in a group setting, scheduled at the employer’s discretion.

WORK STATUS :  Casual / Seasonal – October 2025 - March 2026

HOURS OF WORK :  Casual. There may be opportunity for the successful candidates to work at multiple locations. Shifts are as follows.

Cole Harbour Place : Tuesdays 4 : 30-7 : 30PM & Wednesdays 4 : 00-7 : 00PM

Eastern Shore Community Center : Saturdays 1 : 00PM-2 : 00PM

Halifax Forum : Thursdays 6 : 30PM-9 : 30PM & Saturdays 11 : AM - 4 : 00PM

Spryfield Lions Rink : Sunday 12 : 00PM-3 : 00PM

Sackville Sports Stadium :   Sunday 2 : 00PM-5 : 00PM

SALARY :   Non-Union, $18.70 per hour

WORK LOCATION :  Cole Harbour Recreation Centre, Eastern Shore Community Centre, Halifax Forum, Spryfield Lions Rink, Sackville Sports Stadium. Applicants may work at one or multiple locations.
