Distribution Engineer

Job Summary :

Remote Working Option : This role offers the ability to work 100% remotely should somebody live outside of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Should somebody live in the Lower Mainland, they would fall into the company’s current Hybrid model.

We at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations focused on Infrastructure and Utilities projects. To support this growth, we have opened a full-time position for an Distribution Engineer (Intermediate or Advanced level) to join our team on a full-time basis. The selected individual will be a part of our Utilities Division based out of New Westminster, BC.

Key activities include liaising with project stakeholders, completing project designs and performing quality assurance functions.

The selected individual will join our rapidly growing team delivering projects to a variety of utility clients with a focus on electrical utility infrastructure. We are looking for people that take ownership, are career motivated, well organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

This role required Drug and Alcohol screening as a pre-employment requirement.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering from a Canadian accredited university or equivalent.
• Current . with a Canadian Engineering Association
• A minimum of six (6) years work experience in electrical engineering and / or power systems engineering
• A minimum of four (4) years in underground (UG) and / or overhead (OH) electrical design experience on BC Hydro and / or other North American electric utility’s projects.
• Design experience on BC Hydro UG or OH Distribution projects
• A valid Class 5 BC driver's license (or equivalent from another Canadian Province)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient using MS Office and AutoCAD software

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00 / yr.
