Power Engineer

Introduction

The Department of Public Service Delivery is seeking a Power Engineer to join their operations at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre in Selkirk, MB. Duties : Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a Second Class Power House and related mechanical systems, including equipment and all related systems for the supply of heating, cooling and electrical power to the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. Qualifications : Essential :

• Experience operating and working as a Shift Power Engineer in a High Pressure Steam Plant.
• Experience with HVAC, life safety systems and building control systems.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems such as a DDC system and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, manage deadlines and follow up.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
