We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Controller to manage the full accounting cycle and support a variety of financial processes and projects.

Position overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the team. You will initially assist with, and progressively take on full responsibility for, a wide range of accounting functions. This role involves collaboration with the Controller and opportunities to develop skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will help manage the full accounting cycle and support various financial processes and projects.
Key responsibilities
Manage the full accounting cycle for multiple companies, including :Daily cash and credit card receipt processingAccounts receivable monitoring and collectionsExpense classification, divisional tracking, and job costingAccounts payable managementPreparation and filing of GST and PST returnsConduct bank and credit card reconciliationsPerform cost accounting and budget trackingPrepare month-end working papersPrepare ad-hoc management reports and provide analytical support related to operational costs and marginsSupport capital and large maintenance projects through detailed financial oversightEnsure adherence to accounting policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with federal and provincial regulationsDeliver timely weekly and monthly financial reports to senior managementProcess and record accounting transactions, including :AccrualsPrepaid adjustmentsCapital asset recordingContribute to a positive and collaborative team environmentPerform bonding-related tasksUndertake other duties as required by the businessPerform other related duties as required or assignedQualifications
Preferably with professional CPA designation or working towards a CPA designationIn-depth knowledge of accounting standards, including ASPEProficiency in computerized accounting systems and MS Office; QuickBooks experience is highly preferredAbility to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailHighly motivated, proactive, and results-drivenThe successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package based on experience.
