Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Intermediate Information Developer with a passion for technical writing to join our Integrated Logistics Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, creating, and maintaining high-quality user documentation and technical content for our products and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical publication development activities, including :

Authoring, and editing technicalcontent for complex hardware and software systems

Reviewing engineering documentation and interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SME) to gain an understanding of system features, functions, operating parameters, and limitations

Analysing supplier technical contentand adapting this in the context of customer requirements, system design and development, operating and maintenance environments, and the needs of the operational community

Identifying illustration requirements and working with illustrators to produce relevant, high-quality output related to operation and maintenance tasks

Tracking system problem reports and working with SMEs to disposition those that have an impact on end user documentation

Validating technical content, coordinating reviews, and dispositioning feedback

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. product management, engineering, customer support, etc.) and the customer

Review requirements in various requirements tools and turn into actional tasks

Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Applicants will need to possess the following experience :

Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Technical / Professional Writing, or related field, or equivalent associated experience

3+ years of experience in the development and delivery of operations or maintenance documentation for complex systems or complex information technology products

Ability to synthesize complex technical data into concise end user publications

Knowledge of technical documentation development processesAbility to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team

Ability to manage multiple tasks independently

Familiarity with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Arbortext Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar (desirable)

Experience working in a multi-discipline engineering team environment (desirable)

Experience working with Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO) (desirable)

Experience working with aircraft avionic systems (desirable)

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

The hiring range for this position is $68,000 - $88,000 CAD annual.
