PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :

Our Summer Student positions are framed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned leader and mentor.

Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length, are based at head office, and typically focus on implementation, Data migration, process automation or other continuous improvement initiatives mainly working in the SAP ERP system.

An excellent opportunity to get hands on Procurement experience.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Entering 3rd yr of studies in Information Technology, Information Management or Supply Chain related program
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to master new applications and technologies quickly
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization and scheduling skills
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle for waterfall, iterative, agile and / or SAP ASAP project methodologies is preferred
  • Students must provide proof they will be returning to a full time study program after the term

Background Investigation :

The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances :

  • Criminal history check
  • Reference check

Management Conductor Program :

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.

You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification / qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
