Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer in Canada for our premier global client. This is a 6 month contract to hire position. Candidates must reside in Ontario or British Columbia to be considered.
The Azure DevOps Engineer will be responsible for providing Azure Cloud Architecture oversight, performing drive application migration from on-premise to the cloud, and setting up new projects in MS Azure.
This role involves organizing resources under one subscription group, establishing cloud resource nomenclature standardization, and providing visibility and monitoring on cost consumption across all cloud-hosted applications.
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Azure Cloud Architecture Oversight : Provide expert guidance and oversight for Azure cloud architecture.
Application Migration : Drive the migration of applications from on-premise to the cloud.
Project Setup : Set up new projects in Azure and organize resources under one subscription group.
Standardization : Establish cloud resource nomenclature standardization.
Cost Monitoring : Provide visibility and monitoring on cost consumption across all cloud-hosted applications.
CI / CD Pipelines : Create standardized CI / CD DevOps pipelines, project structures for Git, and DevOps boards.
Code Quality : Set up Sonar / SonarQube to improve code quality.
Application Resiliency : Ensure application resiliency through fail-over, fail-back, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Auto Scaling & Container Orchestration : Set up auto-scaling and container orchestration based on future growth needs.
Deployment Management : Handle deployments to QA, demo, and production environments.
User Authentication : Assist with user authentication, federation, and SSO setup.
Azure Data Factory : Assist with Azure Data Factory setup.
Scripting & Automation : Utilize hands-on scripting experience to assist with various automation needs.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
Over 8 years of experience in administration and architecting cloud infrastructure is preferred.
6-8+ years of experience in Azure cloud architecture.
Experience in driving application migration projects from on-premise to the cloud.
Strong understanding of cloud resource nomenclature standardization.
Expertise in creating standardized CI / CD DevOps pipelines and project structures.
Experience with Sonar / SonarQube for code quality improvement.
Knowledge of application resiliency practices, including fail-over, fail-back, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Ability to set up auto-scaling and container orchestration.
Experience in managing deployments to various environments.
Familiarity with user authentication, federation, and SSO setup.
Experience with Azure Data Factory.
Strong scripting skills for automation.
Industry certifications in MS Azure are a plus!
