Join our Calgary government client on an initial 18-month contract as they seek an adept Application Systems Analyst with a proven track record in coordination and managing the decommissioning or Windows Servers (Primary Role) and moving apps from the Windows servers.

This role requires experience in working in a leadership role as it pertains to technical projects with the preferred candidate having solid technical experience with both software and hardware.

Responsibilities

  • creation of business case(s) via collaboration with stakeholders
  • facilitating requirements gathering sessions and draft recommended solutions based on gathered requirements
  • providing direction to other project resources as part of the solution implementation
  • knowledge transfer to City resources, where required
  • status reporting, including formal reports / presentations, and other project artifacts, as required
  • project planning and estimating
  • communicating with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • updating Information Technology management, as required
  • Decommissioning Windows Servers (Primary Role)
  • Experience moving apps from a Windows server

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications :

1 Five (5) years' experience in designing, implementing, performing upgrades, configuring, troubleshooting, and documenting software solutions

2. Five (5) years' experience in an analysis role demonstrating the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

3. Five (5) years' experience dealing with design considerations, staff impact analysis, and implementation timelines

4. Two (2) years' experience in managing an Information Technology project

Desirable Qualifications :

1. Proven verbal and written communication skills demonstrating ability to work with various audiences (including technical experts and decision-making managers)

2. Proficiency in documenting requirements and other project required artifacts

3. Strong understanding of both the hardware and software components of an IT project

4. Previous work experience in the public sector or large organizations
