Job description

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Team!

Job Summary : Provides Human Resources guidance to Team Members and Department Managers at the Millcroft Inn & Spa and the Parlour Inn with a focus on Recruitment, Training, Health & Safety, Team Member engagement and recognition programs.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead, execute & participate in the full recruitment cycle and create strategies to support staffing needs
  • Develop relationships & liaison with community partners, participating in job fairs and networking events
  • Complies regular reports through ADP system including : labour turnover statistics and outstanding training, probationary reviews, etc.
  • Facilitate Orientation and Service Culture training for new and existing Team Members providing Team Members with an interactive, engaging and motivating training environment
  • Enroll new Team Members in the Company onboarding training modules; monitors completion progress and provides updates to Managers
  • Create and solicit content for the Company’s Careers Social Media pages, ensuring weekly posts promoting our Team and the Company culture
  • Participate in monthly Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and ensure any follow up items are actioned
  • Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) Claims Management
  • Facilitate Return to Work programs for Team Members as required
  • Assist with the coordination and oversight of the Company’s Health & Safety program

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct and track exit interviews upon voluntary departures
  • Conduct and track stay interviews
  • Track and follow up with Managers for Team Member probationary reviews
  • Assist with planning and executing of Company Team Member events (i.e. Appreciation Days, Housekeeping Week, Holiday Parties, etc.).
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Professional Requirements

  • 3 Years experience in an HR progressive role, hospitality experience an asset
  • Post Graduate in Human Resources, CHRP required with desire to progress towards CHRL
  • Knowledge in applicable legislation including, Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Strong desire to develop and progress in the HR field
