Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in painting techniques, knowledge of paint types, and adherence to safety standards, with bilingual proficiency in English (French is an asset).

The Construction Painter will work across various construction sites, providing high-quality painting and finishing services.
This role involves preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate materials, and applying paints, coatings, and finishes to meet project specifications.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, good hand-eye coordination, and a commitment to delivering durable, aesthetically pleasing finishes.
Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation : Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and taping edges.
- Painting and Finishing : Apply paints, varnishes, and finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Material Selection : Determine the right type and color of paint or finish based on project requirements and environmental considerations.
- Quality Control : Ensure uniform application, smooth finishes, and adherence to specified textures and colors.
- Safety Compliance : Follow safety guidelines, including proper ventilation and PPE usage, when handling paints, solvents, and other chemicals.
- Equipment Maintenance : Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Documentation : Keep records of materials used, surface areas covered, and work progress.
Requirements
- Certification : Red Seal Certification as a Painter and Decorator in British Columbia (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial or residential painting, preferably in construction settings.
- Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of various paint types, finishes, and application methods.
- Attention to Detail : Ability to ensure precision in paint application, color matching, and finish consistency.
- Physical Requirements : Ability to work on ladders, at heights, and handle extended periods of physical labor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with eco-friendly and low-VOC paints.
- Experience in decorative finishes, textured coatings, or special paint techniques.
- Bilingual proficiency in French.
