Your Opportunity

We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Stormwater Engineer for our Calgary office within our Community Development group. You will have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks, which may include leading and preparing design analysis, report preparation, plans and construction documents, and project management. These assignments include stormwater management work across multiple sectors : municipal, transportation, subdivision, and private site development. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

The selected candidate must be self-directed, capable of leading and supervising small teams, eager to mentor staff, and should demonstrate a passion for involvement in the stormwater industry and an enthusiasm to help develop the practice locally. This role will require a balance of technical leadership, engineering, and design coordination.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in leading design teams related to stormwater and drainage improvement projects, including the components of major infrastructure and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Oversee designs from a team of engineers and technicians who perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using PCSWMM and designs using CAD software.
• Assist and / or lead the development and preparation of project design elements, including design reports, plans / drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Guide projects through to completion, including preliminary / conceptual design, detailed design, scheduling, tendering and construction.
• Conduct peer reviews and provide quality control reviews of engineering documents, reports, plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
• Assist and / or lead in pursuits, including the preparation of client proposals, scopes, project teams, budgets and schedules.
• Liaise with clients, agencies and other authorities to determine project requirements, permits, and approvals.
