Human Resource Coordinator (Disability and Accommodations)

We are currently recruiting a Human Resource Coordinator (Disability and Accommodation)  based out of Calgary, Edmonton or Winnipeg.  This is a temporary (6 month) position with the possibility for extension.

What does the Human Resource Coordinator (Disability and Accommodation) do?

The Human Resource Coordinator (Disability and Accommodation) will be responsible for coordinating and implementing accommodation, disability and return to work programs for employees to ensure equal access and opportunities in the workplace. This role will involve working closely with Training, Operations, Scheduling, CATSA, OH&S, employees, Union Locals and external resources to assess accommodation requests, provide guidance on accommodation options, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Assess and manage accommodation requests, including disability-related and return-to-work programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as Training, Operations, Scheduling, CATSA (Canadian Air Transport Security Authority), Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and Union Locals to assess employee needs
  • Research and recommend appropriate accommodation solutions based on individual needs and job requirements
  • Create and Monitor Modified Work Agreements
  • Provides support in the facilitation of return to work (RTW) programs
  • Coordinate the implementation of accommodations, including procuring necessary equipment or services and ensuring timely delivery and installation
  • Collaborate with Operations, Training, CATSA (where applicable) and employees to facilitate the accommodation process and provide ongoing support and guidance
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting of accommodation requests, assessments, and outcomes in compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices related to workplace accommodation and accessibility
  • Attend accommodation meetings with external stakeholders and CATSA as required
  • What you bring to PASS :

  • Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) / no unpardoned criminal background
  • Canadian Citizen or PR
  • 1-3 years of experience in disability management, employee accommodations or Human Resources (preferably in a unionized environment)
  • Completion of post-secondary diploma or certificate program in a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Previous training or experience in the medical field, inclusive of familiarity with medical terminology is a strong asset
  • Working Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with employees, leaders, clients and other stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze individual needs and recommend appropriate accommodation solutions
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated and highly accountable
  • Proficiency with MS Suite and software programs such as (ERP / HRIS) systems
  • Experience working with a federally regulated employer in a heavily regulated environment is a strong asset
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and / or providing disability-related services is preferred
