Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse with additional educational preparation and experience who possesses and demonstrates the competencies to autonomously diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform specific procedures within his / her legislated scope of practice. The NP role is derived from blending clinical diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge, skills and abilities within a nursing framework that emphasizes holism and partnership with individuals and families, as well as communities.
The Nurse Practitioner utilizes a comprehensive theoretical knowledge base and an advanced level of clinical competence in caring for palliative care patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. The NP will be expected to provide a comprehensive health assessment, symptom management, using a broad range of therapeutic modalities, and is responsible for promoting compassionate care of the terminally ill and their family. The NP will also develop and implement a plan of care, provide family counselling and staff support.

Hours : Various rotating hour shifts 0700-1500, 0800-1600, 1000-1800, 1200-2000 (hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)
