ROLE OVERVIEW
As Project Manager you are responsible for managing various sized projects, foremen / women and crews. You will have a strong business sense and a keen eye for detail. Your oversight of these projects will require energy and motivation, with excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.

- Plan and evaluate, manage change orders
- Liaise with engineers and owners
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager is responsible for the following :
Manage 1 – 3 projects at once depending on sizeManage 2 – 4 site supervisors with 4 – 8 crew per site supervisorScheduling projectsRequisition materials, supplies and review invoices with Site Foreperson, VP–Construction and Construction ManagerProducing purchase orders and subcontracts based on quotes
Communicate any safety or mechanical issues promptly to Construction Safety OfficerAs built informationCompany representative with owners and consultantsWeekly level 10 meetings with management and cascade messages to / from direct reportsBudgets and accountability for the budgetUse HCSS Heavy JobEnsure accurate job data recorded in HCSS Heavy Job and report daily production using HCSS Heavy Job manager
Reporting equipment hours and maintenance to Chief MechanicShop drawings and submittalsLead by example and identify training where requiredResolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivityEnsure the health and safety of all workers under your direct supervisionKnow the WorkSafeBC requirements that apply to the work under your supervision and make sure those requirements are met.Report client care issuesEnsure compliance with Provincial and Federal legal requirementsEnsure business in conducted with the highest ethical standardsChampion and drive the safety program for employees and subcontractors at all levelsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The Project Manager will demonstrate the following in their daily work :
Knowledge of construction standards and codesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA solid understanding of construction management proceduresProblem solving skillsTime management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, managing various duties, while meeting scheduled deadlines.Adept computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and HCSS Heavy Job ManagerCapable of initiating and adapting to changeProactive risk managementCustomer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively with the general publicInterpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with other Civil Construction and Coastal Mountain Excavations employeesQUALIFICATIONS
Valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ LicenceMinimum 10 years collective Project Management and on-site experience preferred - ideally will possess 10 years of relative experience with civil construction techniques, excavation procedures, safety regulations and project management principles.Journeyworker trade certification in a relevant trade is desirableComplete knowledge of CME operations and representative of CME core valuesSecondary school (preferred)COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
