Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group , based out our Vancouver office. The role of Geochemistry Lead comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to :
Apply your knowledge and experience in mining geochemistry to expand your Acid Rock Drainage and Metal Leaching (ARDML) knowledgeManage projects, be part of multidisciplinary project teams, and mentor less experienced geoscientists and engineersLead and / or support geochemical / environmental field programsLead and / or support projects through the analysis of large geochemical data sets and development of insightful recommendations to optimize sustainable mining developmentsIdentify and pursue opportunities for developing the mining geochemistry businessApply and contribute to leading research and emerging technology within the practice of mining geochemistryWhat we require :

A degree in geochemistry, geology, or hydrogeology : a master's degree is considered an asset10+ years of experience in applied combination of geochemical modelling, geochemical / environmental field work, analysis of large geochemical datasetsYou must be eligible to register as professional engineer in CanadaA solid understanding of geochemistry, geology, and mineralogyA general understanding of mining-related environmental issues, regulations, and policiesExperience in translating and presenting geochemical datasets in way that non-specialists can understandProficiency in geochemical software packages and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Geochemist's Workbench and PHREEQC)Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making and coaching skillsAn ability to train and mentor young professionalsPassion for collaborating with clients and fostering long-term relationshipsEnhanced communication skills, which should include experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and general project correspondenceExperience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirementsIn addition to the must have requirements you will excel in the role if you have :

Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
