If you're a passionate leader in health care, we'd love to have you on our team!JOB SUMMARY:The Nursing Services Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and organization of the nursing department. This role ensures high standards of care while aligning with GEM Health Care Group's mission, values, and strategic plan. In the absence of the Administrator/Director of Health Care Services, the Nursing Services Manager assumes responsibility and acts as a designate leader. Responsibilities Staff Leadership & DevelopmentTrain, onboard, and mentor staffSupport performance evaluations for RNs and LPNsAssist with staff investigations and disciplinary actionsPromote a culture of safety and teamworkResident CareOversee resident care coordination and improvement initiativesOrganize resident care conferencesAudit resident files, records, and confidentialityEnsure compliance with policies, standards, and guidelinesDevelop and implement new policies and proceduresOperations and ComplianceManage admissions, discharges, and transfersLiaise with external regulatory bodiesOversee infection control and wound careLead department goal-setting and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing from an accredited schoolCurrent registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse (RN)Standard First Aid & CPR certificationMinimum 3 years of clinical experienceAt least 2 years of management experienceExperience in teaching or facilitating adult educationExperience in continuing care (preferred)Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Wound Management and/or Infection Control (an asset) About GEM Health Care Group GEM Health Care Group is a Nova Scotian, family run business which has been enhancing the lives of seniors in the communities where they operate since 1979.We continue to remain a leader in transforming how health care is delivered to seniors in Nova Scotia and we strive to provide the best care, service, and quality of life for our residents in a safe, dignified, home-like environment.GEM currently operates various levels of seniors' care facilities throughout Nova Scotia, Ontario, and in Hollywood, Florida.
