What You’ll Be Doing
- As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment and planning of resident needs, delivery of skilled procedures, medication administration and documentation in accordance with quality management, legislative requirements and Sienna Senior Living standards.
How You’ll Succeed
Provide Resident Care and ServicesUtilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal careProvide nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and provincial regulatory RN scope of practice requirementsCollaborate with the resident or their substitute decision maker about needs, preferences and health status at move in, changes in status and ongoing assessment as requiredCreate, develop and evaluate plan of care and goals of care with the resident or their substitute decision makerProvide supervision, assistance & oversightDemonstrate professional knowledge of all equipment used in delivering nursing careAssist with the development and implementation of policies and guidelines that reflect the community’s philosophyEnsure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in alignment with nursing practiceAssess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to meet physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of residentsParticipate in conferences with the interdisciplinary care teamProvide leadership and guidance; act as a role model for nursing team membersDeliver in-services and education with nursing and other team members as requiredTeach RPN / LPNs and PSW / HCA staff in relation to new skillsFoster team learning by sharing knowledge and supporting educational programsWho You Are
Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalentCurrent Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, or similar in AlbertaKnowledgeable in nursing process, developments and current trends in geriatric careCompassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living with comfort, dignity, and respectEffective verbal and written English communication skillsAdministrative and computer skills with experience in word processing, spreadsheets and database applicationsInterpersonal, communication and teamwork skillsAbility to set priorities and organize work in response to patient needsProficiency in both official languages, French and English, is an assetWhat You Need To Know
