Position Summary
For the project “Documentation Centre for Research on Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites Associated with Indian Residential Schools,” the research assistant will undertake and assist with research. Tasks will include :
- Leading and taking part in research in archives;
- Leading and taking part in an annotated bibliography;
- Taking part in knowledge translation, including presentations to communities and
- Organizing documents and tasks;
- Taking part in work meetings with the research team;
- Supporting the research team in research-related tasks;
- Please note that this project deals with emotionally difficult subjects, and requires great discretion.
Position Requirements
Applicants are required to be a currently registered undergraduate student at the University of ReginaDemonstrate solid knowledge of issues tied to residential schools, to colonialism, and to the current realities of the indigenous peoples of the plainsTraining or experience in history, archival work, and / or knowledge translationStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsProficiency with locating journal articles and other academic literatureProficiency with locating official reports and statistics (e.g. Statics Canada databases)Ability to synthesize themes from a wide rage of literatureThis position has the option for remote work arrangements (to be discussed with the supervisor)
