Job description

The Magnaflux Operator is responsible for using the Magnaflux system to check parts. All work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS and 5S activities is required.

Your responsibilities will be to :

Responsible for removing and cleaning solution filters

Responsible for visually inspecting parts with and without the black light and performing particle concentration and short circuit tests.

Use the cut-off saws to cut parts for examination as required

Required to report any abnormalities, such as changes in fall-out quantities, suspected flaws, etc. to the Quality Assurance Dept.

De-magnetize all products after MPI operation and record on process sheet

Ensure the process sheets are adhered to and signed-off by appropriate personnel at all critical stages. Upon completion of MPI operation, will record and sign for final quantity and rejection fall-out quantity.

Responsible for maintaining an organized workspace where incoming and outgoing products are clearly distinguished

Maintain up to date logbooks on part numbers, magnaflux numbers, quantity through, fall-out quantity, etc.

Responsible for communicating first-off inspection results promptly to ensure timely product handling.

Follow all safety regulations pertaining to proper use of chemicals. Must wear all required protective safety equipment

Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.

Other duties as required.

Our requirements :

High School diploma or equivalent

Ability to perform continuous close-range visual inspections for extended periods of time to detect critical quality defects.

3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment

A specific mandatory eye test is required to be completed

An understanding of strict quality concepts as they relate to automotive parts

Able to work within a dark, confined space where movement is limited

Positive attitude and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications

Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality and production

Basic mathematical skills required

Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment

Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality

Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures

Lifting may be required. No more than 25lbs and assistance is available if needed

Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental

Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time

Able to work overtime when required / requested
