MatchBox Consulting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our client, a well-established company specializing in the installation of drywall and insulation systems in diverse high profile projects across the Lower Mainland.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a solid foundation in construction project management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to oversee and drive multiple projects toward successful completion.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Support in developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing risks and deviations.
  • Review and ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress, quality, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and addressing challenges.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including pre-construction kick-offs and progress reviews, ensuring action items are tracked and completed.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project billing, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of experience in project management or a related role within the construction industry, preferably in drywall and insulation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and standards, with a focus on drywall and insulation systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on proactive solutions.
  • Familiarity with contract administration, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and collaborate effectively with field teams.
  • A degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
