Job Summary
Student position Temporary full-time. No experience needed.
As asummer student as a maintenance and sanitation clerkfor ourToxicologyteam located at theLavalsite you will be responsible for the welfare of all our research animals. Your success will ensure the health of our animals as well as the integrity of our preclinical studies.
In this role primaryresponsibilitiesinclude:
- Prepare and decontaminate animal rooms according to the scheduled schedule;
- Ensure that the materials required for the study are available;
- Handle animals for any activity that requires it;
- Remove household and biomedical waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers;
- Operate the cage washer.
Key Elements
If you have the followingqualifications well train you for the rest:
- College student or equivalent;
- Able to perform physical work (lifting up to 20 kg walking standing squatting etc.);
- Able to follow precise instructions;
- Ability to manage time effectively;
- Ability to work independently;
- Hot and humid environment in equipment washdown areas;
- Presence of chemicals in the work environment.
Please note that upon hiring you will be required to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the companys expense.

- Schedule: Flexible schedule of 7.5 hours/day day or evening (e.g. 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.) Depending on operational needs you may be required to work weekends
- Temporary position full-time at 37.5 hours per week

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
