Support Staff Bar / Lounge Security (Part-Time)

The Frobisher Inn is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Support Staff / Security team member to join our dynamic team at The Storehouse Bar & Grill. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both our guests and staff, with a key focus on ensuring adherence to liquor laws and handling difficult situations professionally.

Position : Support Staff / Security

Location : The Storehouse Bar & Grill, Frobisher Inn, Iqaluit, NU

Type : Part-Time (15~25 hours per week)

Pay : $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with security protocols to ensure the safety of our guests and team members.
  • Monitor the premises to maintain a calm, secure, and friendly atmosphere.
  • Deal with difficult guests in a respectful and professional manner, ensuring any issues are resolved while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws and enforce responsible alcohol service, in line with provincial regulations.
  • Bus tables and maintain cleanliness throughout the bar and dining areas.
  • Support staff with cleaning tasks and ensure the restaurant is tidy and presentable at all times.
  • Handle guest inquiries and assist with any needs to promote a positive experience.
  • Work closely with the management team to enforce safety policies and respond to any incidents or concerns.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience in hospitality , security , or handling difficult customers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and responsible alcohol service is an asset.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A strong team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
