We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual with wet lab experience and excellent communication skills.
This person will work under the direction of Drs. Sapir-Pichhadze, Mazer and Piccirillo. The work will be focused on the receiving, handling, processing, storage and shipping of biological samples obtained from participants of the immunogenicity and safety of COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine Co-administration and Interval in Immunocompromised hosts (CO2I2) Trial.
General Duties
- Conduct and / or coordinate reception, registration, and processing of biological samples as per standard operating procedures (SOP),
- Administer and record sample associated information into CO212 Trial electronic database following set guidelines,
- Maintain records and files related to trial biospecimens and conduct follow-up on sample related data collection and entry into the CO212 Trial electronic database,
- Collaborate on sample preparation, cell separation and cell and serum preservation,
- Collaborate on sample storage and mapping with biobank personnel,
- Participate in sample shipping efforts with biobank and collaborating laboratories,
- Participate in the development and implementation of procedures and work methods on biospecimens for the CO2I2 Trial to optimize efficiency and quality,
- Act as a resource person, resolve problems and instruct others,
- Prepare reports and discuss results and their interpretation with others,
- Perform other tasks, such as assisting with the logistics of bio-specimen procurement and liaise with partners and collaborators.

Education : Master's Degree
Field of Study : science, immunology, molecular biology or similar fields.
Other education considered an asset for this position :
Work Experience : 2-year experience in biospecimen handling.

Other Requirements :
- Strong research skills with wet lab experience and exposure to handling human biological samples like blood, various cell populations, biopsies, urine, stool, etc.,
- Ability to work independently,
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office tools and openness to learn new software for biospecimen collection, processing, annotation, and inventory management,
- Two (1 2) years’ related experience working in a clinical / healthcare environment, including interaction with clinical personnel (nurses, technicians and physicians),
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to function in a multidisciplinary team.
Examples :
- Excellent English language skills essential (written, comprehension and spoken). Good knowledge of French (comprehension and spoken at intermediate level) would be an asset.
