RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.
The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
Full-time Research Associate to work in the Lebrun cancer research laboratory at the McGill University Health Center.
General Duties
Lead and participate in research projects,
- Reviews and evaluates research findings, analyze results, prepares reports and manuscripts,
- Laboratory management : the candidate will be in charge of product / equipment ordering as well as for the good organization and maintenance of the laboratory,
- Assist members of the laboratory with their research projects,
- Provide training to new recruits,
- Oversee good day-to-day practices in the laboratory,
- Meet and report regularly to the PI.

Education / Experience
Education : Master's Degree
Field of Study : Health-related field or equivalent.
Required Skills
Primary skills requirements :
- Knowledge in Molecular and Translational Oncology,
- Experience in managing and validating data,
- Excellent ability to work in a team,
- Autonomy and pays close attention to details,
- Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques including cloning, gene editing, lentivirus-based transfection, PCR, Western blotting, etc.,
- Good knowledge and experience in cell biology, confocal microscopy, cell imaging, flow cytometry.
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Knowledge and experience with CRISPR screening and technology (in vitro / in vivo),
- Knowledge and experience with large dataset analysis and bioinformatics,
- Experience handling small animals.
