Newfoundland and Labrador's primary and most advanced container terminal. St. John's Port Authority is the primary offshore energy supply and service centre and a destination of choice for the cruise ship industry. The Port of St. John's has evolved to become a strategic transportation hub and a powerful economic engine for our province.

The St. John's Port Authority (SJPA) plays a central role in both the day-to-day marine operations of the port and in planning its future.

Position Details :

Position : Casual Security Officers

Site : St. John's Port Authority

Overtime : Overtime after 48 hours

Hours : Casual - As needed

Payrate : $ 20.00 / hour

Posting Date : November 17th, 2025

Internal Closing Date : January 31, 2026

External Closing Date : January 31, 2026

Schedule Example : As Required

Key responsibilities :

• TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Based on specific site posting, log and report all incidents reported by SJPA staff or visitors
• Patrol interior and exterior of facility preventing unauthorized entry; in a composed manner direct individuals initiating disruption to leave the premises
• While on patrol, monitor risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical issues, hazardous material and additional breaches of security
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance.
