Site Description : Newfoundland and Labrador's primary and most advanced container terminal. The St. John's Port Authority (SJPA) plays a central role in both the day-to-day marine operations of the port and in planning its future. Position Details :

Position : Casual Security Officers Site : St. John's Port Authority Overtime : Overtime after 48 hours Hours : Casual - As needed Payrate : $ 20.00 / hour Posting Date : November 17th, 2025 Internal Closing Date : February 28, 2026 External Closing Date : February 28, 2026

Key responsibilities :

• TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Based on specific site posting, log and report all incidents reported by SJPA staff or visitors
• Patrol interior and exterior of facility preventing unauthorized entry; in a composed manner direct individuals initiating disruption to leave the premises
• While on patrol, monitor risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical issues, hazardous material and additional breaches of security
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance. Monitoring situations, cameras, property and events
• Communicate in a truthful and receptive manner under all circumstances as well as provide information regarding the facility as requested by personnel
• Sustain effective relationships with key managers and visitors through courteous and respectful relations perceived from their viewpoint
• Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner in order to grant access to the facility
• Access control to monitor, record and submit written reports of the arrival of all vessels in each respective zone including arrival / departure time and berth location
