Overview
Medical Office Assistant (MOA) – FTE: 0.6. You will provide a continuous front-of-house (Director of First Impressions) support for the Red Deer Primary Care Network Street Clinic and will contribute to the efficient functioning of the office and undertake a range of administrative and clerical duties.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates patient care through the clinic ensuring patient confidentiality with effective communication while demonstrating empathy, compassion and confidentiality with patients.
- Answers enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
- Maintains appointment schedule and manages recalls.
- Maintains electronic medical record (EMR), including the patient chart with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately, and it is ready for the next patient.
- Taking and recording vital signs.
- Managing office and medical supply inventory.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain poise under pressure, be able to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work equally well alone while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others as part of a team (i.e., collaborating in the development of a project and openly receiving feedback for successful completion of project).
- Must be able to work flexible hours occasionally as operational needs dictate.
- Possibility to assist with preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
MOA Certificate/Diploma: Completing a recognized MOA program at an accredited Canadian institution is recommended
Technical Skills
Excellent and proficient knowledge, understanding and usage of all Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
