Type : Fulltime Permanent

Location : Nanaimo

Compensation : Up to $110,000 / year

Position Overview :

As our Heavy Duty Parts Manager, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our truck and trailer operations run smoothly by managing the parts department. You'll oversee inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and lead a team to provide high-quality parts and service to our technicians and customers. This role requires a hands-on leader who can keep things organized, meet demand, and deliver excellent service. Job Duties :

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing parts team, ensuring clear communication and strong morale
  • Conduct regular team huddles to maintain communication within the department
  • Oversee recruitment, performance reviews, and employee development
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Promote customer service excellence and maintain a respectful work environment
  • Business Strategy

  • Contribute to developing strategic priorities, budgeting, and sales goals
  • Manage the parts department budget and monitor performance to meet productivity, revenue, and expense targets
  • Analyze trends to improve profitability and review warranty chargebacks
  • Sales and Marketing

  • Develop strategies to achieve parts department objectives and stay current with market trends
  • Monitor parts sales and stay updated on new products and tooling advancements
  • Collaborate with vendors for support as needed
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Parts Technician or in a comparable position in the dealership / trucking industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in successfully leading diverse teams, up to 5 people
  • Certified Journeyperson Parts Technician is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, make operational decisions, and solve complex problems
  • In-depth understanding of business principles and sound business judgment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in a customer service-focused, high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in Business Management or a related field
