Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees and manages the safety team
- Manages driver safety and compliance programs including development, supervision, reporting and maintenance of such programs
- Analyzes safety needs and develops, as well as oversees all training programs including monthly training by department, and any remedial training efforts
- Oversees Department of Transportation regulation compliance in accordance with FMCSA
- Oversees log compliance to identifies and help develop training opportunities
- Oversees fuel conservation programs to ensure drivers are not wasting Fuel and evaluates effectiveness of programs
- Performs miscellaneous project work as directed
- Manage Safety reporting to identify counsels and trends
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred experience in trucking safety managementAbility to analyze and resolve issues using sound logicAbility to lead, motivate and work well with others.Strong negotiation skillsThe ability multi-task and perform accurately and reliably in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.The ability to work independently to achieve goalsWork a high degree of integrity and dependabilityStrong oral and written communication skillsDetailed oriented with exceptional organizational skillsAdvanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointRequirements
