Summary

The BCE Tax Group is responsible for managing all tax affairs of BCE, Bell Canada and their affiliated companies, including income, capital, property, sales and utility taxes. The BCE Tax Group also participates in special projects involving Legal, Treasury, M&A, Corporate Development and Business Operations.

Reporting to the Director - Commodity Taxes, the Senior Manager - Commodity Taxes will be responsible to ensure BCE and its affiliated companies comply with the different commodity tax laws and regulations, will provide tax advises and will actively work to improve commodity taxes related processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the BCE Group entities for commodity tax (GST / HST, QST and PST);
  • Improve processes to ensure commodity taxes compliance and cost reduction;
  • Provide commodity tax expertise on agreements and other documents;
  • Prepare documents requested by the tax authorities as part of commodity tax audits and keep a good relationship with people gathering the information;
  • Provide tax assistance on special projects;
  • Perform the required tax researches and analysis;

Critical Qualifications

  • Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or legal background combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant commodity tax experiences;
  • Strong Technical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and tax research tools
  • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada

    Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
