The Position:

Neelands Group Limited is searching for aConstruction Refrigeration 313A Apprentice (Term 3) to join our team at the Burlington, Ontario location. This is a regular, full-time union position with a full union compensation package.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately measure and layout plan for refrigeration system installation in accordance with project plans and specifications.
• Assemble and install commercial refrigeration or cold storage units, including walk-in coolers/freezers and rack systems.
• Installation of refrigeration lines
• Carefully read and interpret blueprints to ensure proper specifications
• Measure, cut, and connect pipe to components and refrigeration systems using welding and brazing equipment
• Assist in the commissioning and start-up of refrigeration systems.
• Ensure the necessary materials required for the project are on hand and readily available
• Handle, store, recover, and charge refrigerants safely in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
• Safely perform pressure test once pipework is complete to test for leaks
• Repair and alter pressure system if leak or damage is found
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues (mechanical and electrical) under guidance or independently.

Qualifications:

• Registered 3rd year refrigeration apprentice
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in supermarket or commercial refrigeration installation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Valid G license with a clean driver abstract
• Ability to travel when required
• Familiarity with CO₂ refrigeration systems is considered an asset.
