Job Overview
At NB Power, the Corporate Financial Planning team oversees corporate governance related to investment governance and financial planning. We are currently seeking a Copperleaf Lead to act as the process owner for the Copperleaf value framework and investment plan development within the recently implemented Copperleaf system (asset investment planning). The role focuses on optimizing the capital investment portfolio plan across the enterprise to deliver maximum value within budgetary and resource constraints, balancing short‑term needs with long‑term strategic objectives.
Key Functions
- Managing and maintaining the value framework, portfolio optimization, and long‑term rolling investment plans.
- Leading the development and reporting of investment portfolios, analyzing data, evaluating options, and prioritizing projects to ensure resource alignment with corporate goals.
- Generating scenarios and risk‑based analyses to support strategic decision‑making and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams using Copperleaf and driving continuous improvement of value models and frameworks.
- Acting as the subject matter expert on NB Power’s Value Framework and contributing expertise to the general rate application process.
- Demonstrating strategic thinking, adaptability in a dynamic environment, and the ability to provide leadership and consultation across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, combined with five years of experience managing investment plans, performing data analysis, and reporting on investment portfolios.Master’s degree, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or current enrollment in one of these programs is considered an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel).Understanding of asset management principles and investment governance processes.Demonstrated experience in facilitating and leading teams to achieve business decisions.Demonstrated experience identifying and leading improvement opportunities.Ability to present results and recommendations to senior leadership and effective communication in both verbal and written forms.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in solving complex problems.Knowledge of risk assessment and regulatory requirements in the utilities industry is an asset.Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
