At Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES), the Engineering & Reliability and Operations teams supports the KAES manufacturing and terminal facilities in running a safe and reliable business. The teams have diverse capabilities in mechanical engineering, plant operations, materials science, electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, project engineering, equipment condition assessment and nondestructive testing, and welding. They also maintain strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards to deliver consistent results.
The Engineering & Reliability team is hiring an intern for Summer 2026 focused on mechanical design and analysis and the Operations Team is hiring one intern to focus on plant reliability and maintenance.
What You Will Do
- Support the project engineering team by preparing project scopes, specifications, schedules, budgets, and funding requests.
- Field verification of engineering drawings and field data collection for project planning and execution.
- Assist other departments such as operations, Quality etc. with their engineering requests (RES).
- Collaborate on CAD modeling and technical documentation for equipment upgrades.
Mechanical focus :
Research and develop proposed solutions to technical issues / opportunities that are present across multiple manufacturing sitePlant focus :
Perform design and analysis for fixed and rotating equipment, including stress calculations and performance evaluationProvide hands-on support for piping systems and structural components during maintenance and reliability activitiesAssist with troubleshooting mechanical issues in real-time to keep plant operations running safely and efficientlyWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year in a Mechanical Engineering degree or related degree, or alternative program. (e.g., 4 year college program, 2 year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)Legal authorization to work permanently in Canada for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.Physical Requirements
