The Role We are currently looking for Two DSP Structural Fitters for our shop located in Nisku, AB . The day shift crew work 6 : 00am-4 : 30pm shift (Monday - Thursday, 10-hour days).

Turning around profitable, safe projects for our clients is key to everything we do. Responsibilities and Duties : A metal fabricator (fitter) lays out, prepares and assembles structural steel and metal vessels, containers and miscellaneous components.

Metal fabricators (fitter) fabricate structural components for frames, platforms, buildings, and other load-carrying structures, and plates for tanks, boilers, pressure vessels and similar products.

On a typical project, they will : Read & interpret blueprints or welding process specifications for structural steel without supervision.

plan the sequence of tasks and decide how to cut the steel most efficiently, determine the materials required and obtain them from stock, develop and / or mark patterns if required, use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll, bend or press steel into the desired shapes, assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units, and fasten components together (by mechanical means or tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process.

Extensive plate, structural, and miscellaneous welding experience whether it be a small or large project. Takes pride in workmanship, aims for zero repair rate, continually striving to improve & develop Continually exhibits best practices with housekeeping, safety, document control, lock-up procedures & preventative maintenance Experience using overhead cranes and skid steers Support, participate in, and help drive the overall company safety program, safety awareness, and safety targets Consistently demonstrate Safety Leadership qualities Excellent communication skills, can-do attitude, collaborative skills, ability to follow directions and have attention to detail Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines May perform other related duties assigned Experience and Qualifications : Journeyperson Metal Fabricator (Fitter).

Pipe Fitters and others will be considered with suitable experience. Must have previous experience in an industrial setting Must possess valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) Must Possess WHMIS Must possess valid government issued photo identification Must possess valid class 5 drivers license Candidates with COR safety experience an asset Valid Overhead Crane Training, Skid Steer Training, & Standard First Aid Certification is a definite asset Valid CWB, FCAW, SMAW ALL POSITIONS is an asset Candidates with current First Aid certification preferred.

Working Conditions : Applicants that reside near Nisku, Beaumont, Leduc, or Edmonton and area. Only local candidates will be considered due to the location of this project and no travel allowances are provided.

4 and 3 rotation - 10 hour days. Current project requires 40 hrs per week RT with 10-20 hrs per week OT (Friday & Saturday) .

Work will be primarily inside Fabrication facility, however some field work may also be required This position will be project based OCL Group Inc.
