About the Role:
We are recruiting an Executive Director to work with High Road Services Society in Smithers, BC.
The successful incumbent will work closely with the Board of Directors, responsible for the health and performance of the organization, the success of its operations, strategic planning, and overall leadership of the organization. Internally, the ED will focus on the ongoing improvement of the organization’s business model to ensure maximum productivity and revenue. Externally, the ED will establish key long-term relationships with business partners that enhance the organization’s profitability.
We are open to relocating the successful individual for the position.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement multi-year strategic plans in collaboration with the Board to fulfill the organization's mission.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage annual budgets, ensure fiscal accountability, and oversee financial reporting and audits. Maintain relationships with key funders and organizations.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day administration, including facilities, programs, and compliance with the BC Societies Act, CRA regulations, Union and CLBC.
- Human Resources: Recruit, mentor, and manage staff and volunteers while fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture.
- Public Relations & Advocacy: Serve as the primary spokesperson to the media, government agencies, families and communities served by HRSS.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in business administration, non-profit management, social work, or a related field. A master’s degree is an asset.
- A minimum of 5-7+ years of progressive senior leadership experience within the non-profit sector.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and a commitment to cultural humility. Experience working with indigenous communities is a major asset.
- Experience working with or reporting to an engaged board of directors.
- Experience with grant writing and managing relationships with government organizations.
- Demonstrated success in empowering high-performing teams and inspiring a commitment to service excellence.
- Proven leadership, strategic planning and analysis, risk management, financial acumen and human resources management.
- High ethical standards, demonstrating integrity and grace in workplace interactions and decisions.
