Learning Technologies School Support
Reporting to the designated Information Technology Supervisor, the Learning Technologies School Support personnel are responsible for supporting the wide variety of learning technologies in the WECDSB. Support will be provided through on site visitation and where applicable remote connectivity. The Learning Technologies School Support personnel will maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, laptops, and technological peripherals. Duties will include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading computer hardware and software. School support personnel will troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and assist with selected end-user support. The Learning Technologies School Support personnel will collaborate with a team of information technology professionals to facilitate an environment that is consistent with the goals of the WECDSB in order to meet the technological and learning needs of the system.

DUTIES
- Installing and configuring computer systems and peripheral devices;
- Install and configure operating systems and application software on stand-alone and networked computer systems;
- Assist in the management of users and applications on networked computer systems;
- Perform routine maintenance on hardware and software installations;
- Diagnose equipment failure and perform appropriate repair as determined by the designated IT Supervisor in accordancewithBoardprocedure (Ex. ram installation, replace hard drives and cd / dvd drives, bulb replacement, etc.);
- Create appropriate Help Desk tickets for specialized repairs by Learning Technologies Technicians, warranty providers or other designated providers per WECDSB procedure;
- Research solutions to existing computer based problems;
- Act as a resource to users on how to access and interface with computer based learning material, i.e. computer hardware, peripheral devices and software;
- Other duties as assigned by the designated IT Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a Computer Science, Data Processing and / or Information Systems Program at arecognized community college oruniversityCandidates with industry standard certifications such as Comp Tiaor satisfactory equivalent experienceare preferredMinimum 2-3 years experience in the physical configuration and operating system of the following systems :Windows-based technologies : client and serverApple-based technologiesGoogle G-SuiteIP addressingNetworking technologies such as Ethernet, wifi and related cablingMinimum 2-3 years experience in the installation and use of industry standard computer software applicationsExperience in technological equipment trouble-shooting and repairsValid driver's licence required and own transportationStrong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills requiredSelf-starter who can analyze a problem and initiate solutionsEagerness to learn and apply computer solutions to school based issuesAbility to maintain confidentialityAll applications should be submitted with a resume outlining qualifications, experience and other information relevant to the posting.
