Key Responsibilities:
As an Avionics Engineer, reporting to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, you will:
• Address and respond to engineering requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical input for commercial proposals.
• Develop and maintain regulatory-compliant engineering documentation.
• Design and modify electrical and avionics systems, collaborating with the engineering team.
• Prepare and implement engineering orders, manuals, and certifications (EO, AFMS, ELA, W&B, ICA, MEL).
• Deliver technical documentation and drawings for production and installation.
• Support system installations and modifications with troubleshooting assistance.
• Conduct technical research and contribute to system manuals.
• Manage customer requests and obtain necessary approvals.
• Source and evaluate avionics equipment, coordinating with vendors.
• Assess subcontractor proposals and technical documentation.
• Contribute to certification programs and liaise with regulatory bodies.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the engineering team to drive skill development.
• Review and refine engineering documentation to maintain accuracy.
• Analyze incidents, propose process improvements, and drive innovation to keep the organization at the forefront of industry standards.
Qualifications:• Diploma in Avionics Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in avionics engineering
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
• Familiarity with RTCA DO, ARINC, and TSO standards
• Proficiency in French and English
• Skilled in MS Office and AutoCAD
Preferred skills:• Experience with aircraft system interfaces
• Background in project management
• Expertise in technical writing
• Knowledge of AS9000 or ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Systems
• TCCA ‘E’ License
