Turner & Townsend Cavalieri is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support large-scale, ground-up and renovation construction projects with our prominent Industrial, Life Sciences and Technology (IS&T) clients.

The role will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to commissioning and handover.

Who are you?

You are an experienced client-side Senior Project Manager with a minimum of 12 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment.

Do you have experience building or overseeing the construction of warehouses, manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings.

Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be involved in :

  • Establishing professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders (consultants and contractors) involved in the projects and programs we deliver
  • Working with the architects and engineers on developing the design
  • Working with the contractors to develop an overall project schedule, and budget
  • Managing and collaborating with client, consultant, and contractor teams to achieve project deliverables
  • Overseeing the Site Plan Approval process and Building Permit processes representing the owners objectives
  • Tendering and awarding of the construction contract
  • Monitoring and recording the construction progress
  • Delivering clear and concise reporting to clients to provide visibility on project status, risks, and issues, and allow our clients to make timely and informed decisions
  • Setting up and managing meetings, transcribe meeting minutes and drive action items to closure.
  • Ensuring project compliance with client’s document controls and file specifications.
  • Administering a variety of contracts and master service agreements in accordance with project objectives and policies for the entire project lifecycle.
  • Attending site visits when under construction sometimes travelling outside the GTA area in Ontario and Other Provinces around Canada.
  • Sound knowledge of Ontario Legislation with respect to Health & Safety
  • Oversee and manage the transfer of the building operations to the client including all close out documentation and warranties.
  • Administering and coordinating project closeout documentation
  • Contributing to our achievement of Turner & Townsend’s global vision

Previous experience and a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role :

  • Project Management
  • Whilst we will consider candidates with a range of sector experience, candidates with experience in the following sectors are particularly sought.

  • Other highly serviced critical infrastructure projects
  • Contract Management
  • Scheduling (Software experience including MS Project, P6)
  • A Collaborative approach and best-for-project attitude
  • Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value engineering.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization skills, ability to multi-task.
  • Must be a leader controlling the design team and the contractors.
  • Must have a positive team attitude , be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required.
  • Experience with business development, including developing business with existing and new clients, and cross-selling.
  • University / Technical College degree / certificate in Construction Management / Engineering or a related field.
  • Member of a relevant Professional Institute preferred.
